Privacy Policy

RoomProof ("we", "us", "the app") helps you compare before-and-after photos of a room to see what changed. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. We try to keep it plain and honest.

1. Photos you capture

To do its core job, RoomProof needs the photos you take. When you create a check, your before and after photos are uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Google Firebase) and associated with your spaces so you can view your history. They are stored to provide the service to you.

To detect changes, your photos are sent to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) which compares them and returns the result. We do not sell your photos, and we do not use them to advertise to you.

You can delete a check or an entire space at any time from within the app. Deleting removes the associated photos and analysis from our active storage.

2. Device and usage data

We collect a small amount of technical data to run and improve the app:

• An anonymous installation identifier generated on your device, used to associate your spaces and checks with your app installation. It is not your name, email, or Apple ID.
• Basic usage counters (such as how many spaces and checks you have, and how many times the app has connected) to operate the service and understand overall usage.
• App version and platform information.

3. Subscriptions and payments

RoomProof offers auto-renewing subscriptions sold through Apple. Payments, billing, and renewals are handled entirely by Apple under your Apple ID — we never see or store your payment details. Your subscription status is verified on your device through Apple's StoreKit.

4. Camera and photo library access

RoomProof requests access to your camera (to take before/after photos) and, if you choose, your photo library (to select existing photos). These permissions are used only for capturing the images you choose to add to a check.

5. Third-party services

We rely on these providers to deliver the service:

• Google Firebase — secure storage and backend hosting.
• OpenAI — AI analysis of your before/after photos.
• Apple — app distribution and subscription processing.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms.

6. Data retention

We keep your spaces, checks, and photos until you delete them or request deletion. Anonymous usage counters may be retained for operating the service. You can remove your content directly in the app, or contact us to request deletion of data associated with your installation.

7. Children

RoomProof is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. Your choices

• Delete individual checks or whole spaces in the app at any time.
• Revoke camera or photo access in your device Settings.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings.
• Contact us to request deletion of data tied to your installation.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
